The Translation Team

Modernizing a human-first healthcare translation business

Company Overview

Company Overview

The Translation Team (TTT) is a human-led translation and localization company built on twelve years of Spanish-language work for U.S. companies serving Healthcare, Marketing, Government, Education, and HR & Workforce clients.

By the time MMG got involved, TTT had grown into a company offering translation, transcreation, web and app localization, subtitling, captioning, voice-over, and document accessibility across more than a dozen languages including Dari, Farsi, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Somali, and Nepali. The website hadn't grown with them. It was still running on an aging WordPress build that described a Spanish-only company from a decade earlier, hosted on infrastructure the team no longer wanted to touch.

Why Timing Mattered

TTT wasn't launching a new brand. It was catching the website up to a business that had already changed. That's a harder problem than a fresh launch, because every page had to be rebuilt without breaking the search visibility and referral trust the old site had accumulated over a decade.

Two things had to happen at the same time. The site had to communicate real language and industry breadth without turning into a generic "we do everything" translation vendor. And it had to preserve twelve years of earned rankings through a full platform migration, not just a redesign.

Get the differentiation wrong and TTT reads like every other translation vendor competing on price. Get the migration wrong and a decade of SEO equity disappears on launch day.

The Core Challenge

  • A website still positioned as Spanish-only, serving a company now offering 40+ languages
  • An outdated WordPress build with dated design, no CMS discipline, and hosting/security debt
  • A crowded competitive field of AI-first translation platforms (Lilt, Smartling, MotionPoint) where TTT's human-led model is the differentiator, not a footnote
  • Five distinct industry verticals (Healthcare, Marketing, Government, Education, HR & Workforce) with no dedicated pages to speak to each one's context
  • A 30+ page site that needed to move platforms without losing rankings built over a decade of organic growth
  • A growth-stage content and SEO strategy already underway (new copywriter, LinkedIn presence, content marketing) with no site built to support it

Strategic Goals

  • Reposition the brand around multi-language, multi-industry capability without diluting the Spanish-language expertise that built the company
  • Migrate 30+ pages from WordPress to Webflow with zero avoidable ranking loss
  • Build dedicated paths for each of TTT's five industry verticals so healthcare, government, education, marketing, and HR buyers each see their own context reflected back at them
  • Make the human-led model the headline differentiator against AI-first competitors, not a claim buried in the footer
  • Give the team a CMS they can run without a developer, with authors, blog, and industry pages all templated
  • Lay the foundation for AI and traditional search visibility, not just a redesign

What We Built

1. A Full SEO-Safe Migration Off WordPress

This wasn't a redesign with a new coat of paint. It was a full platform move, and it had to protect what already worked.

  • Complete URL inventory and sitemap export of the existing WordPress site before a single page moved
  • 301 redirect mapping across all 30+ pages to preserve link equity and avoid a traffic cliff on launch
  • Heading structure, metadata, and internal linking reviewed and improved page by page, not just copied over
  • Post-launch indexing and sitemap submission to get the new site recognized fast

2. Five Industry Paths, One Clear Brand

TTT serves government agencies and healthcare systems in the same week it serves marketing teams and school districts. That range is a strength if the site can speak to each one specifically, and a liability if it can't.

  • Dedicated industry pages for Healthcare, Marketing, Government, Education, and HR & Workforce, each written to the real challenges and compliance considerations of that buyer
  • Service pages built around outcomes and next steps instead of technical jargon, so a school district administrator and a hospital system both know exactly what they're buying
  • Social proof (client tenure, retention, dedicated account teams) surfaced high on the page instead of buried in a testimonials section

3. Human-Led as the Headline, Not the Footnote

TTT's competitors are largely AI-first platforms. TTT's answer to that is a QA process and dedicated account teams that AI-only vendors can't offer. The site had to make that case on page one.

  • Messaging built around continuity and quality control: the same dedicated project management and translation teams stay on an account for years, not a rotating pool
  • Clear, plain-language explanation of how TTT uses AI as a tool inside a human-managed process, instead of leading with a defensive stance against it
  • Credentials and tenure (twelve years in business, long-standing client relationships) positioned as proof, not as a passing mention

4. A CMS the Team Can Run Without a Developer

TTT's growth plan includes an active content marketing strategy and a growing set of author-driven blog content. The backend had to keep pace with that without pulling MMG into every update.

  • Templated blog and author profile system so new content and contributor bios go live without custom development
  • Industry and service pages built on repeatable templates that stay on-brand as the catalog of languages and services keeps growing
  • Form routing built to get inquiries to the right team, supporting a business that has grown almost entirely on referrals and now needs the site to do more of that work

Closing

The Translation Team didn't need a new identity. It needed a website that finally matched the company it had already become: multi-language, multi-industry, and still built on the same human-led model that earned it twelve years of client retention. The hard part wasn't making it look modern. It was migrating a decade of SEO equity to a new platform while repositioning the brand, without losing a step in either direction.

How the Solution Reduced Risk

  • A methodical, redirect-mapped migration protected rankings and traffic through a full platform change
  • Industry-specific pages reduced the risk of TTT reading as a generic, one-size-fits-all translation vendor
  • A human-led positioning strategy gave TTT a defensible answer to AI-first competitors instead of an implied one
  • Templated CMS structure kept new content and new languages on-brand as the catalog keeps expanding
  • A form-routing and conversion structure gave a referral-driven business a website that can finally generate and qualify its own leads
